Celebrity divorce in 2013
Now is the time for the second annual celebrity divorce review. Some of the celebrity divorces surprised us, some, well, not so much. Celebrities no doubt have the stresses that all of us feel in our marriages. But they also have some we don’t understand like the additional spotlight of the media and more temptation to cheat. So here’s the list of celebrity divorces, in no particular order.
(Not) so surprising celebrity divorce for 2013
1. Bruce and Kris Jenner
First celebrity divorce is Olympian Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, have separated after 22 years of marriage. According to sources, the couple claims to be much happier living separately, although according to the couple, they “will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our No. 1 priority.”
2. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr
Despite his box office success, it seems that even Orlando Bloom, recognized Hollywood heart throb, has separated from estranged wife Miranda Kerr.
3. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore
Although the couple had been physically separated for over two years and had been attempting to complete their divorce for at least one year, the second celebrity divorce is Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore finalized their divorce this year.
5. Laura Dern and Brad Harper
After five years of marriage and two children, Laura Dern and Ben Harper have called it quits. This time it is for good. The first sign that there was trouble in paradise came in 2010 when Harper reportedly blindsided Laura Dern with divorce papers. According to reports, the divorce papers never got signed, but instead, the couple attempted reconciliation.
6. Diane Lane and Josh Brolin
A Los Angeles judge has finalized Diane Lane and Josh Brolin’s divorce. The announcement was made in early December. They were married for more than eight years when they filed for divorce in February. The former couple has no children together.
7. Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto
Two of our favorite stars of two of our very favorite shows, Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries, announced their divorce in July of this year. They were only married for two years and have no children together.
8. Richard Gere and Carey Lowell
Richard Gere and Carey Lowell announced this year they would be splitting after 18 years of marriage. Apparently the two have grown apart working for different causes. Gere is pursuing his work for ecological causes and AIDS awareness while the former Bond Girl Carey, 52, enjoys “socializing with other bigwigs.”
9. Clint and Dina Eastwood
Clint and his wife divorce this year after seventeen years of marriage. The two remain close but have reportedly had a turbulent relationship over the last year, following Dina’s admission to rehab for anxiety in April.
