Bethenny Frankel to divorce

Bethenny Frankel born November 4, 1970, became a famous American TV personality, author, entrepreneur, and natural foods chef.  Bethenny Frankel grew up in Long Island before later moving to Florida. She most famously appeared in the Bravo’s series The Real Housewives of New York City and in 2005, appeared on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.

Later in 2010, we followed her in the Bravo show Bethenny Getting Married, a show which chronicled her engagement, wedding and finally the birth of her daughter. This showwas followed finally by Bethenny Ever After, documenting her life after wedding and baby.

What seemed like a perfect fairy tale apparently was anything but. Earlier this week Bethenny Frankel announced to her more than 1.1 million Twitter followers that she was separating from her husband of two and a half years, Jason Hoppy. Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy are discussing the possibility of their divorce and determining child custody arrangements for their two and a half year daughter, Bryn. The couple is trying to negotiate a deal without a fight, hoping to avoid an extended child custody battle.

Apparently no one close to the couple is surprised. In fact, Bethenny Frankel has discussed her marriage in detail in People Magazine in May 2012. Apparently the couple was not able to agree on many issues including money, gender roles, or family. According to Bethenny Frankel the two kept fighting and she noted that the fights were, “almost like a scab that you keep picking at.”

Bethenny Frankel is not alone. Although the divorce rate in America is increasing, the divorce rate for women who appear on The Real Housewives franchises is even higher. Who has separated or divorced their spouses before and after the show?  New York‘s Sonja Morgan, Beverly Hills‘ Kim Richards, and New Jersey‘s Danielle Staub had split from their husbands before they appeared on television.  Of the ladies of the OC, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, and Miami, there were an incredible 14 divorces since the housewives stepped into Bravo’s limelight.

Hiring a Divorce Lawyer

Divorce should never be the first option for a failing marriage, but if you are filing for divorce you may want to discuss your marriage with a divorce lawyer. Issues such as child support, child custody, spousal support and property distribution are important issues which should be discussed with a good divorce attorney.
