Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announce separation
Not sure if we can blame it on the foam finger or not, but CNN reports rhythm and blues singer Robin Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, have separated.
The couple, who have one son Julian Fuego age 4 in April, were married in 2005, although they met in high school and have dated for years. According to a joint statement issued by the couple, they will “always love each other and be best friends.” They have, however, mutually decided to separate.
The couple has been fighting rumors their marriage was in trouble since last year. Although Robin Thicke praised his wife and claimed, “I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula. She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way.”
They also appeared recently together during the Grammys last month. The couple has given no additional details and no news of an impending divorce has surfaced. Robin Thicke has continued touring and Patton has just completed her film “About Last Night.”
Who is Robin Thicke?
Born Robin Charles Thicke, on March 10, 1997, he is a singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. He began his career at the age of 16 and published his first album A Beautiful World in 2003. Later he found greater fame in 2006 with the release of his next album The Evolution of Robin Thicke which hit the Billboard 200.
Most recently he has found even greater financial success with his sixth album Blurred Lines. He has also become tabloid fodder for his exploits with Miley Cyrus on stage at the VMA awards in 2013 where critics questioned the dubious dancing and foam finger routine.
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton met in a club at the age of 14 when he asked her to dance. They begin dating at the age of 16 but waited until 2005 to marry.
Khloe Kardashian says no thanks to Lamar Odom
In other divorce news, according to recent reports, Khloe Kardashian is ready to move on with her life and has no intentions of reuniting with her basketball player husband, Lamar Odom. In a recent interview, when asked whether she would be joining her husband in Spain, she displayed her middle finger. And I think that means no.
Although Khloe has had some breakdowns on her recent television show, according to close friends, she is ready to move on with her life. In fact, in a recent Instagram post she wrote, “Don’t forget that you’re human. It’s okay to have a meltdown. Just don’t unpack and live there. Cry it out and then refocus on where you are headed.”
Lamar Odom, however, recently gave an interview in which he claimed not only would he not do anything different, he still considers Khloe his wife and would like to win her back. According to Odom, “There is nothing I would do differently. Being married and being married to the woman I decided to marry, besides having my children, was the most important thing in my life. Who knows, we don’t know exactly, only time will tell. I hope [we don’t get divorced] and even if we were divorced she’ll always be my wife,” he added.
